Basic Blueberry Smoothie (Dairy-free)
All you need to make this smoothie is 6 ingredients: fresh blueberries, banana, almond butter, regular oats, vanilla extract, and Blonde Biscotti's Almond Non-dairy Milk!
Makes 1 16oz Smoothie.

INGREDIENTS:
3/4 cup fresh blueberries (I like to use fresh blueberries that we freeze, it makes for a colder smoothie)
3/4 cup fresh bananas, sliced (can also freeze these)
1/4 cup almond butter
2 TBSP oats (we use Bob's Red Mill, Old-fashioned, gluten-free)
1-2 tsp vanilla extract (add as little or as much as you like)
1 cup (8oz) Blonde Biscotti Almond Non-Dairy Milk
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Place your blueberries, sliced bananas, almond butter, oats, and vanilla extract (add one teaspoon as a time, you can always add more add the end to sweeten to your liking) to a medium sized blender.
2. Pour 1 cup (8oz) of almond milk on top.
3. Cover the lid and blend until smooth/desired consistency.
NOTES:
Using fresh blueberries can be tough! They either mold in your refrigerator waiting for you to use them, or you run out quicker than your next planned grocery stop. We like to buy fresh, but freeze in portion containers so there is NO measuring, and there is no worry any added sugars like most frozen, packaged brands down the freezer aisle.
SUBSTITUTION (OATS): We always use old fashioned oats when making this smoothie, but you are welcome to add quick oats or your favorite kind of steel cut. The differences are going to be in the texture that the smoothie produces. Quick oats will blend quicker and absorb water in a way that will give a more gummy texture. Old-fashioned oats will give it a creamy, texture without giving it that gummy feel that quick oats will. While steel cut oats tend be less processed giving it a chunkier texture. It will be difficult to blend the oats in a smooth texture without over-blending your drink. But again, it's your preference or whatever you have on hand. If substituting, we recommend adding one tablespoon at a time so you can reduce, if necessary.
